Céphée was a humble imigrant liner operated by Messageries Maritimes through the first half of the 20th century. Originally built for Hamburg-Amerika line as ‘Buenos-Ayres’, Céphée was awarded as a war reparation to the French in 1921. Operating out of Marseilles, the vessel transported many thousands of hopefuls to Australia.
